Under our KMI Systems brand, we specialize in the design and development of customized technological solutions for the printing industry. Our focus is on creating efficient, reliable systems tailored to the real needs of production processes, with the goal of optimizing time, improving operational quality, and reducing plant costs. We are dedicated to creating small but highly functional systems designed to solve specific problems faced by workshops and companies in the sector. Among the types of solutions we develop are automation modules that modernize existing machinery and extend its lifespan. Each system is designed with a practical approach, prioritizing operator safety, process stability, and compatibility with printing equipment of different brands and generations.

Coating Controller 

We developed a fully automated varnish feeding system, specifically designed for offset printing equipment that requires stable, efficient, and controlled varnish application during the production process. This solution was created to improve machine performance, reduce downtime, and enhance the final finish quality.

Knife Controller 

For older machines where the authorized service provider no longer offers service or spare parts, we developed Knife Controller, an electronic system designed to replace all the original electronics and extend the lifespan of machines that are still mechanically sound. This system incorporates infrared curtains to detect movement in front of the blade and multiple safety filters that monitor signals and movements, controlling the hydraulic valves to protect the operator and ensure safe and reliable operation.

Kutter Controller 

Advanced control system for the backgauge of Polar guillotines, designed to replace or improve upon traditional mechanisms using servo-controlled technology. This system guarantees exceptional precision, greater stability in movement, and a significantly longer lifespan compared to conventional control methods. Our system is already operational in Costa Rica, with five installations running at high performance and achieving complete customer satisfaction. This demonstrates the robustness, reliability, and maturity of our solution.

COUV Controller 

This system was designed to monitor UV curing belts in offset printing equipment using optical sensors located at the lamp's inlet and outlet. In the event of a paper jam, the sensors detect it immediately, block the feeder, and automatically shut off the lamp. This is an essential safety system for reducing the risk of fire, as many machines on the market lack this type of protection, and after a jam, the sheets can catch fire without the machine stopping.
